Referrals

We welcome referrals and look forward to working collaboratively with you to ensure the best outcomes for your patients.

By referring your patients to our clinic, you entrust them to a dedicated team that values professional collaboration and commitment to the highest skin cancer detection and patient care standards.

Referral for Skin Cancer Checks

Our team comprises highly skilled melanographers and accredited skin cancer doctors, ensuring your patients receive exceptional care and the most advanced screening.

We are always available to our referring doctors for advice and save you valuable time by conducting skin cancer checks on your behalf.

We understand the importance of thorough communication, so we provide referring doctors with a detailed report outlining lesions of concern that require further management.

Most importantly, we prioritise a collaborative approach to patient care, guaranteeing that your patients will always be redirected back to you for their ongoing care.

Referral for Confocal Microscopy

As one of the only clinics in Australia to offer confocal microscopy, we accept referrals for this as a standalone service.

Confocal laser scanning microscopy is a non-invasive procedure for in vivo skin examination. Cellular microstructures of the skin can be visualised cell by cell in clearly defined horizontal “optical cross-sections” with a thickness of less than 5.0um from the epidermis to the upper dermis.

It enables us to diagnose skin cancer without cutting and within minutes, sparing your patients from painful and potentially unnecessary tissue removal and long waiting times for results. It enables a “window into the skin” without causing pain or damage.

Although the technology is yet to be widely adopted in Australia, it is reliable, precise and evidence-based, with over 1,000 publications. A recent randomised study of 3165 patients with lesions suspicious of melanoma found that adjunctive use of confocal microscopy reduced the number of unnecessary excisions by 43.4%.

We can use our confocal microscopy technology to assist you in the following ways:

Optical biopsy is particularly useful if your patient has a suspicious lesion on the head or neck. It is suitable for both melanocytic and non-melanocytic lesions.

We can map a tumour’s extent before excision, which is particularly useful in skin cancers with ambiguous clinical edges and lesions where tissue preservation is cosmetically essential, such as the face.
