Cancellation policy

We understand that your plans may change but we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you can’t attend your appointment. This enables us to offer that booking to another patient who needs it.

If you do not provide at least 24 hours’ notice, we will apply a $100 cancellation fee when we rearrange your appointment.

In the event of a no-show, we will charge the full cost of the skin cancer check ($290), which must be paid before you can book a new appointment.

Frequently asked questions about our fees

Skintel

Does Medicare cover skin cancer checks?

No, Medicare does not currently cover skin cancer checks, as no Medicare item number is available for these services. This means that no Medicare rebate is possible. Although not covered by Medicare, regular skin checks are vital for early detection and effective treatment, playing a crucial role in maintaining skin health.

Can I use my health fund for a skin cancer check?

Some private health insurers may cover part of the cost of your skin check. This can reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. Once you’ve paid for your skin check, you may be able to claim some reimbursement from your health fund. If you have private health insurance, we recommend checking with your fund before you attend your appointment so you understand how much they might pay towards your skin check.
